Preparations for the Unknown
Single-channel video, 06:11 min, DV-PAL, 2008

A young woman is waiting in a wardrobe, preparing to walk out while wearing a blindfold. She fails, but soon starts over again.

The idea that we are constantly being in some sort of movement between opposites, between hope and fear, between longing and accept, is revealing something vital, which is ambivalent but yet dynamical.

Preparations for the Unknown deals with hesitation and doubt as strategies for asking questions. Hesitation makes you stop and ask yourself once more, before you start over again. This involves not only doubt but also boldness. And boldness has power and magic in it.
